The Accuser of our Brethren

If you get down and you quarrel everyday,
You're saying prayers to the devils, I say...
Why not help one another on the way?
 Make it much easier.

It is the devil who condemns. It is the devil that sows discord among people.

One time, a friend of mine was condemning me over the phone, and was going on and on about how rotten I was, and I answered, "that's devil talk!"

When we condemn, or refuse to forgive, or judge harshly, we are giving place to the devil (2 Corinthians 2.11, Ephesians 4.27). The devil in the Book of Zecharia is a like a prosecutor, seeking to condemn us. But Eyesus Kristos is our advocate (1 John 2.2), standing by our side to recommend us to the Father.

Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down.

- Revelation 12.10

Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the Angel of Yah, and Satan standing at his right hand to oppose him. And Yah said to Satan, “Yah rebuke you, Satan! Yah who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is this not a brand plucked from the fire?” Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and was standing before the Angel. Then He answered and spoke to those who stood before Him, saying, “Take away the filthy garments from him.” And to him He said, “See, I have removed your iniquity from you, and I will clothe you with rich robes.”And I said, “Let them put a clean turban on his head.” So they put a clean turban on his head, and they put the clothes on him. And the Angel of Yah stood by.

- Zecharia 3.1-5

And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Eyesus Kristos the righteous. And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.

- 1 John 2.1b-2
